Sunday 31st May 2009: Farm & Country

Here’s a great new idea for a day out! Combine a visit to the fascinating Cobham Bus Museum with a trip on a vintage bus to see the kids, lambs, piglets, and other young and rare breed animals at the beautiful Bocketts Farm Park near Leatherhead.

Cobham Bus Museum has the biggest collection of old London buses, from Victorian horse buses through the motorbuses of the ‘20s and 30s to the famous Routemaster.

On Sunday 31st May they’ll be joined by a host of other historic buses and a collectors’ market to create a super transport spectacular.

Admission to the Museum is just £5 per adult, and that includes up to two accompanying under-16s and all bus rides free.

A very special attraction this year is the vintage bus service to Bocketts Farm Park, where there are huge play areas for the children, pig racing, trampolines and tractor and pony rides, as well as a whole host of animals and birds. The café is open all day.

Cobham has been able to negotiate a special entry price to Bocketts Farm. On presentation of the Cobham programme for the day, admission for adults and children is reduced to £5 (normally £7.60 adult and £7.20 children 3 - 17).

The Cobham Farm and Country Day starts at 10am and finishes around 4.30pm.

If you’re coming by car, it’s best to park at Weybridge Station and take the regular shuttle bus for the 8-minute ride to the Museum in Redhill Road, Cobham (just off the Byfleet Road, by Silvermere Golf Club).

Monday 31st August 2009: National Trust Day

A variety of buses will be running at frequent intervals throughout the day linking Cobham Bus Museum with National Trust properties at Clandon Park and Hatchlands Park, both of which are near Guildford.

Sunday 25th October 2009: London on the Fringe

A day full of real nostalgia for transport fans, remembering those companies running bus services which used to meet London Transport on the outer fringes of its operating area in the days of the London Passenger Transport Board. A variety of buses recalling these bygone days will be running at frequent intervals throughout the day linking Cobham Bus Museum with various of these locations 'on the Fringe'.

Line

  • At all of these Running and Open Days, Cobham Bus Museum will be open for you to see its unique collection of heritage buses and coaches, and the restoration work being carried out by its dedicated volunteers.
  • Adult admission to Cobham Bus Museum is £5 including two accompanying under 16s. Unlimited bus rides, sales stands and refreshments will be available throughout the day from 10am to 5pm.
  • There is very limited car parking space in the grounds at Cobham Bus Museum, available only to those with severe mobility restrictions.
  • Car parking is available along Redhill Road beyond the Bus Museum and there are large car parks at Weybridge Station. On Running and Open Days only, the Museum's special bus route 462 runs from outside Weybridge Station in nearby Brooklands Road to Cobham Bus Museum, Redhill Road throughout the day. A timetable for route 462 can be downloaded here.
  • Separate admission charges will apply for Bocketts Farm and the National Trust properties at Clandon Park and Hatchlands Park on the respective days above.
