The ninety vehicle strong RP class were the first coaches bought by the newly formed London Country Bus Services Ltd for Green Line routes, displacing RF, RMC and RCL types. RP 1-25 differed from the remainder of the batch by the fitment of a rear luggage boot for private hire work. Originally delivered in the livery inherited from London Transport's ownership of the Green Line fleetname, within two years most of the type had been repainted into a simpler light green and white livery as the parent National Bus Company sought to promote its own identity. RP 90 was delivered new to Guildford garage in April 1972 and remained there until sold by the company in April 1979.
It passed through a number of dealers, before being purchased by Smith's of Reading and operated for two years before entering preservation and its eventual arrival at Cobham Bus Museum in 1996. It has been fully restored since arriving at the Museum.
This vehicle is privately owned.
