STL 2093 was delivered to London Transport in June 1937 and allocated to Cricklewood garage as one of a batch of STLs with Park Royal metal framed bodies, which later suffered severe corrosion problems. Most of the batch had their metal framed bodies scrapped during 1948-1949 and were re-bodied with wooden framed bodies from later series STL 2516-2647 built in 1939. STL 2093 received the body from STL 2570 in April 1949. Finally withdrawn from Alperton garage in the early part of 1954, it was relegated to a training vehicle at Merton and later Stockwell garages until March 1955.
Disposal was to dealer, W North of Leeds, in June 1955 later joining Reliance Motor Services of Newbury as fleet No 39 in August 1955. Purchased for preservation by Mr D Cowing in May 1958, who restored it to pre-war London Transport livery, and rallied it for a few years, until STL 2093s state gradually deteriorated. It passed to Mr P Marshall in 1976 and arrived at Cobham Bus Museum in August 1984.
The lower deck seating was reinstated a few years ago, and the bus now serves as the "Regent Cinema", which is used to show a short film about the Museums vehicles.
