Due to the nature of the building, the way that the vehicles are normally
fairly tightly stored, and the fact that the Museum is entirely run
by volunteers, it is not always convenient to receive visitors. The Museum
vehicles also attend quite a few local events, meaning they may not always
be present in the Museum on non-event days.
The best time to visit the Museum is on one of our special
Event Days, where the vehicles are displayed appropriately. These events
quite often feature vehicle rides, giving a chance to ride on some of the
Museums vehicles. Volunteers are also on hand if you have any questions.

If you wish to visit on a non-event day, this may be possible but please telephone
the number below before setting out in order to ensure that there will be someone
available to show you round. In the event that there are no volunteers available
to respond to your telephone enquiry, please contact us via
email. The Museum is
situated a short distance from junction 10 on the M25.

On our Event Days, disabled access is reasonably easy (there are no steps) and
there are toilet facilities for disabled visitors. However, please be aware that
the connecting bus services use mainly historic vehicles with high steps and that
wheelchair access is not possible on those buses. Outside our Event Days,
disabled visitors should make prior arrangements, either by telephone, or contact
us via email.
This is because the Museum is a
working environment with vehicles situated in very close proximity to one another
and special arrangements would need to be made to accommodate wheelchairs.
